The FLO – NYFC Charge Experience was an interactive installation designed to promote FLO electric vehicle chargers. This engaging setup features a full interactive pop-up installation simulating a soccer kick challenge within a netted goal area. Participants had been invited to put their best kick forward to measure how many kicks it takes to power an electric vehicle.
Central to the experience, a branded radar gun that clocks the speed of each kick and displays it on a live screen. Adjacent to the kicking area, a FLO charger was integrated into the display, connected to a panel featuring a winding strip of LED Neon lights. The lights traced a path to an LED icon of an electric vehicle. Each kick triggering a progression of lights along the strip, representing the kinetic energy generated and its relation to charging an EV.
As participants continued to kick, the LED strip would sequentially light up, building anticipation and excitement. Once the full strip was illuminated, including the EV icon, a celebratory sequence of flashing lights would be activated, symbolizing the completion of the vehicle’s charge.
Working closely with our client, RDP developed, programmed, and fabricated the installation to provide an experience that not only effectively raised awareness of FLO’s electric vehicle chargers but also provided an interactive and memorable experience for participants, blending the thrill of soccer with the forward-thinking technology of electric vehicle charging
